Make Money Online with Your Website or Blog!

Obviously, to make money from your website you must have a site, and traffic. By traffic I mean people must land on your pages. Once you have established a site and you have traffic, you are ready to make money with your site or your blog.

I see a lot of websites these days, that do not have advertising on them, yet they would do well if they did. There are a number of methods of utilizing your site to bring you a stream of income. How big a stream depends upon several things, mainly the subject of your site and the amount of traffic (number of visitors) you get.

The most popular online advertising for websites these days is Google's Adsense program. Once accepted for the program, you can place a small piece of code on your site, and magically the ads will appear! Google spiders your pages so it can match the ads with the subject of your pages.

By targeting the ads to the subject that the visitors are interested in makes the advertising far more powerful and likely to get clicked on. When a visitor clicks on one of the ads he is taken to the website of the advertiser, and Google charges the advertiser for the click through. Google then splits the fee with you the publisher.

Adsense isn't the only online ad service out there...there are many. Ad sense pays you when someone clicks on the ad. Some of the ad services pay you just for showing the ad. They pay you typically 50 cents for every 1000 page views. I have a site that I put two of these ads on and so for every 1000 page views I get paid $1.00. Then below those two ads I have Google ads, and then finally at the very bottom of the page I have a Google search box, which earns me even more money.

There is another new form of advertising just coming out now. It's called 5 second audio ads, and I think it is going to take the web by storm. It's a very passive way to make money online.

You place a snippet of code on your web pages, and when a visitor lands on your page, a 5 second long audio ad plays. You then get paid for delivering the ad. Another ad will not play for at least 3 minutes. After 3 minutes have elapsed since the last ad, if the visitor refreshes the page are goes to a new page, he will again hear an ad and again you will get paid.

One of the best things about this form of advertising is that your visitor never leaves your site! Studies have shown that the 5 second ads are short enough not to disturb your visitors. And unlike TV or radio advertising, the listener is sitting at the computer, mouse in hand and ready to take action. He is not in the bathroom, or getting a snack in the kitchen, he is right there actually listening to the Ad.

And for those of you who are natural salespeople, any webmasters you sign up for the audio ad program become part of your downline, and when ads play on their sites, you make a commission on those ads too! You can also sign up to be an agent and sell the advertising to the advertisers as well.

The program costs nothing, and so you have nothing to lose by trying it. You can find out more about this unique new program at my website lundone.com.

Another way to monetize your web site is with affiliate links. There are programs that you can join, where you place links or banners on your page, and if a visitor clicks one of those links, goes to the site, and makes a purchase, you get a commission. I've been earning cash this way for years.

One good place to find affiliate programs you can join is Commission Junction. There are thousands of affiliate programs you can choose from and they keep track of all the details and just send you a check each month. You have complete access to all of your stats, and tons of information about the various advertisers programs. It's definitely worth checking out.

So if your website or blog is already getting a steady flow of traffic, then utilize some or all of the methods I've discussed and take a trip to Tahiti while your money accumulates!
